Roberts Electric Motors' founder, Allen Roberts, started as
a technician in the field of electric motor repair in 1960,
moving into management in 1972. Six years later, with
nearly two decades of knowledge and expertise, he opened
Roberts Electric Motors, Inc., offering complete electric
motor repair and replacement.
He chose the trade because it offered the opportunity to do two of the things he enjoys the most--to work with people and to solve new challenges every day. "You really feel a sense of accomplishment when a project is done well."
In 2004, Allen Roberts retired, passing on his commitment to quality and customer satisfaction to his son, Dwayne A. Roberts. Dwayne has been an integral part of the repair business since the doors opened in 1978.
REM's citizenship efforts extend beyond the daily business routine. We are involved in various community events and charities. Several years ago, we were honored to help make a child's wish come true by helping to build a customized "Barbie" car, powered by an electric motor. (read more)
REM's spacious facility has a 4,000 sq. ft. workshop and 1,500 sq. ft. of warehouse space. We are conveniently located near the interchange of I-70, I-270, and Route 15, at 5841 Urbana Pike in Frederick, MD.
